National Society of Collegiate Scholars recognizes Hildreth for academic achievement

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars announced Feb. 7 that Richard Hildreth has been accepted as a lifetime member of the NSCS.

Hildreth, a former two-term mayor of Pacific, is attending American Military University (www.APUS.EDU) pursuing a degree in emergency and disaster management, where he is maintaining a 3.95 GPA.

Hildreth also is a graduate of the Executive Leaders Program at the Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS.us) and a student member of the International Association of Emergency Manager's.

Hildreth first developed an interest in emergency management while serving as the mayor of Pacific from 2004-2011. An electrician for the past 25 years, Hildreth plans on working another 25 years helping the nation's communities prepare for disaster.
