A pickup truck and a small sedan collided in the 30700 block of Green River Road Southeast in Auburn on Wednesday morning, seriously injuring one driver and trapping him in his vehicle.

Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority got the 911 call at 11:04 a.m., quickly extricated the injured driver and worked with paramedics to stabilize him for helicopter transport to Harborview Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously hurt and stayed at the scene with Auburn Police. The road remained closed for several hours while investigators finished their work.

Police did not release the names of either driver.
