Roger Thordarson, former Auburn City Councilmember, recently was appointed to the King County Transit Advisory Committee.

Thordarson’s appointment, confirmed by the Metropolitan King County Council, is for a partial term expiring Sept. 30.

Thordarson resides in King County Council District 7, represented by Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer.

“There has been no greater user or advocate of transit services in South King County than Roger Thordarson,” said von Reichbauer.

“I have known Roger for a long time, and he has made a career of working for increased transit options for the residents of South King County. His appointment to this committee will help ensure South King County has an experienced advocate on its side.”

Thordarson is retired and previously served on the King County Regional Transit Committee during his term with the Auburn City Council.
