At 1 p.m., Thursday, an Auburn officer responded to 31000 block of 123rd Lane Southeast on a call of two suspicious people sitting in a car.

When the officer arrived, the driver of the car handed the officer someone else's identification. The suspect eventually gave the officer the correct identification. When the officer tried to arrest the suspect, the suspect started the car, turned the wheels sharply to the left and sped into into the officer. The suspect sped away, dragging the officer about 20 feet.

The officer sustained minor injuries to a knee and elbow. He was treated at Auburn Regional Medical Center and released.

The suspects have been identified and arrest warrants are pending. No arrests have been made.
