The road to the Seattle International Film Festival in Renton begins Tuesday, May 7, with the SIFF-Renton Preview FilmWalk in downtown Renton.

This is a chance to see the trailers for the films that will show at the SIFF-Renton venue May 23-29.

Nineteen films will show at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center at Renton High School, 400 S. Second St. Tickets for the Renton venue and the entire festival, with venues in Seattle and Kirkland, are on sale at siff.net. Tickets also will be available at the performing arts center box office closer to opening night.

Here's how the preview film walk works:

Walkers will meet at 7 p.m. at the Whistle Stop Ale House, 809 S. Fourth St., in downtown Renton, where participants will view film trailers and hear from SIFF programmers.

The next stop in the walk is the Renton History Museum, 235 Mill Ave. S., where more trailers will show. The final stop is the yet-to-open 8-Bit Arcade Bar on South Third Street across from The Local 907 pub, 907 S. Third St., whose owners will also operate the arcade.

Those who visit all three venues will be entered in a drawing for a ticket to SIFF-Renton opening night screening and the gala that follows at the Renton Pavilion Event Center.

And rentonreporter.com will serialize the films leading up to opening night.
