Man seriously injured in motorcycle-vehicle collision in north Auburn

A man sustained serious injuries Sunday evening in a collision between his motorcycle and a truck in north Auburn.

Valley Regional Firefighters and King County Medic One responding to 1210 Auburn Way N. at 6:17 p.m. found the motorcyclist, estimated to be about 30 years old, down and badly hurt. Firefighters and medics treated him at the scene, and Medic One transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Witnesses told firefighters that the collision had propelled the motorcyclist through the side door window of the truck, a Dodge Dakota extended cab. Its driver was not hurt.

The name of the injured man has not been released.

Auburn police are investigating.

"The victim is at Harborview with serious but apparently non-life threatening injuries," Auburn Police Commander Mike Hirman said Monday afternoon. "We have no information at this time to believe that speed, alcohol or drugs played a part in the collision."
