Auburn police responded to the following calls, among many others, between July 31 and Aug. 4:

July 31

Traffic offense: 6:47 a.m., 1200 37th St. NW. A man wanted on a warrant lied about his name during a traffic stop, thereby getting himself busted for driving on a suspended license and making a false statement to police.

Bike theft: Overnight, 1000 block of 31st Street Northeast. Some thief jumped over a fellow's 4-foot-high chain link fence and stole an unsecured mountain bike from his back porch. The bike was valued at $150.

Shoplifting: 2:26 p.m., 1519 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a female of undisclosed age for shoplifting at Goodwill. A search revealed several items of drug paraphernalia and possible stolen debit cards.

Vandalism: 6:55 p.m., 1000 block of D Street NE. Police arrested three boys for throwing rocks at a vehicle, shattering its window.

Theft: 8 p.m., 1208 Supermall Way SW. Somebody at the Supermall stole a wallet from the employee-only area, then used the debit card in the wallet to buy things at the mall.

Aug. 3

Theft: 7:40 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Somebody stole a woman's purse at the Muckleshoot Casino.

Vandalism: 11:54 a.m., 1204 E. Main St. An Auburn gas station employee reported that someone had broken into a coin-operated air/vacuum machine.

Counterfeiting: 2 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. A woman tried to spend a counterfeit $20 bill but said she had no idea where she had picked it up.

Vandalism: 10 p.m., 600 block of 19th Street Southeast. A woman called police to report that somebody had broken a glass sliding door and bedroom window at the Sundance Apartments.

Aug. 4

Vandalism: 12:23 p.m., 13600 block of Southeast 299th Street. Anger over domestic issues, said a husband, pushed his wife to break the top of their glass top stove.

Shoplifting: 3 p.m., 1439 Auburn Way N. An unidentified male stole at least three packs of cigarettes, and possibly a cup of jo, from an Auburn convenience store.

Theft: Overnight, 400 block of 4th Street Northeast. Somebody stole $150 in cash from his cousin's wallet.

Theft: 8 p.m., 800 block of 11th Street Northeast. Somebody stole a green BMX style bicycle.

Animal problem: 8:22 p.m., 11200 block of Southeast 325th Court. A dangerous dog attacked an Auburn police officer and was shot.

Trespassed: 1:44 a.m., 1156 Auburn Way S. Having had enough of three adult troublemakers, Chevron gave them the boot.
