Get your tail to Roveromp and help Auburn's homeless and abandoned pets
Think of it as a way to save lives — four paws, one tail, perhaps two floppy ears at a time.
And while you're at it, have an outrageous amount of fun before the astounding spectacle of The Fido Drill Team, the Auburn K-9 Unit, adoptable pets, contests, demonstrations, rescue organizations, a kids zone, specialty vendors.
And, of course, bring your pooch for the Rover Romp 5K walk/run.
The Auburn Valley Humane Society calls this fall event — in its second year — Barktoberfest and Rover Romp. But the shindig has a serious purpose, too: it's also the AVHS' yearly fundraising event for the community's homeless and abandoned critters.
The fun begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at Roegner Park, 601 Oravetz Road SE, Auburn.
Here's a small slice of the goings on:
• Vendors, entertainment, food
• Collect pledges and win prize drawings
• Pet owner/pet look-alike contest
• Best pet costume contest
• Prize basket drawings
• Help raise funds for homeless pets in Auburn.
