Auburn, Auburn Riverside post wins in SPSL Central 4A action | Prep girls tennis

The Auburn Riverside girls had no trouble swinging past Federal Way 5-0 in South Puget Sound League Central 4A play Friday at Federal Way.

Raven No. 1 singles player Kaitlyn Clugston defeated Stephanie Peraza 6-3, 6-3 with teammate and No. 2 singles player Diana Yakimchuck beating Sydney Truong 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles play, No. 1 Carson Heilborn and Sydnie LaValley dominated Rochelle Schwyhart and Venessa Ho 6-1, 6-1 with the No. 2 doubles team of

Lindsey Sanborn and Jessica Fullford beating Xenia Velasco and Anna Rodriques 6-2, 6-1.

In the final No. 3 doubles match Morgan Fawcett and Savana Brown beat Elsie Tibas and Gwen Gabert 6-2, 7-6.

Auburn Riverside is 2-2 in league play, 7-2 overall.

Auburn Riverside travels to Thomas Jefferson at 3:30 p.m.

ALSO: Auburn improved to 4-1 in league with a 4-1 victory over Todd Beamer on Friday.

Lauren Thornquist earned her fifth victory of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Titan Taylor Verzosa. At No. 2 singles Madison Millard beat Nicole Lim 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles play, Auburn's No. 2 team, Madeleine Jones and Aylssa McMahon beat Sem VanDenBosch and Heidi Kim 6-2, 6-5 and the No. 3 team of Becca Davis and Renee Davrit defeated Michelle Riedel And Natalie Hoss 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Beamer's only win came in the No. 1 doubles with Titans Avery Liening and Simran Kaur crushing Kassy Strickland and Madi Johnson 6-2, 6-2.

The Trojans will host Curtis at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
