Auburn Days are here again; festival opens Friday

Auburn Days – a three-day community festival – returns to the downtown streets this weekend. The event celebrates the city's life, music, love and laughter through its musicians, authors, poets, artists, athletes and future leaders.The fun includes live music and a wide variety of food, arts and crafts, and vendors.

A 5-K fun run and walk, community spaghetti feed and an all-school reunion are Friday.

A grand parade is noon Saturday along Main Street. A street dance, replete with live music, comes to the City Hall Stage at 7 p.m. Saturday.

New this year is Auburn Days At The Airport. The public can take in aircraft displays and other attractions from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Auburn Municipal Airport, 506 23rd St. NE.

Admission is free. A $5 pancake breakfast supports the Washington Pilot Association Foundation.

Sunday welcomes the Good Ol' Show & Shine Classic Car Show ('79 and older) and Adventures in Literature, featuring Poets on Parade Contest and nine poet laureates.
