Study: Auburn ranked No. 8 among most stressful cities in the state

Behind all those images of coffee shops, the residents of Washington have their fair share of stress.

To help find the perfect place to live and work, today announced the results of a new study that identifies the 10 most stressful cities in Washington.

And Auburn made the list – at No. 8.

To compile the rankings, the editors at, a credit card comparison and financial education website, analyzed five key factors:

• Odds of being a victim of a violent crime
• Average commute time
• Average hours worked per week
• Percentage of divorcees
• Percentage of income spent on housing

Based on those criteria, the 10 most stressful cities are:

1. Bremerton
2. Everett
3. Lakewood
4. Tacoma
5. Marysville
6. Renton
7. Lake Stevens
8. Auburn
9. Federal Way
10. Burien
