Pacific fire displaces 4

Valley Regional Fire Authority Firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 100 Block of Milwaukee Boulevard S. in Pacific on Sunday.

There were no injuries but the fire displaced four occupants.

VRFA units arrived and found light smoke visible from a chimney. Upon investigation, a wall fire was detected behind the fireplace. The house was evacuated as firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

The Red Cross assisted the residents with temporary accommodations.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
