Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between Feb. 4 and Feb. 8:

Feb. 4

Burglary: 12 a.m., 32500 block of 107th Avenue Southeast. An Auburn resident reported that he or she recently noticed several power tools missing from his or her garage.

Feb. 6

Vandalism: 9:06 a.m., 2900 block of Auburn Way S. To quote Auburn police: "Unknown subjects vandalized victim's vehicle."

Receiving, possessing stolen property: 2:10 p.m., 2400 block of M Street Northeast. To quote Auburn police yet again: "Two individuals were arrested for possession of stolen property."

Burglary: Overnight, 1000 block of 12th Street Southeast. Somebody at a construction site reported that somebody else broke into a storage trailer onsite and stole some equipment. Police did not disclose a value.

Shoplifting: 10:08 a.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a man for trying to swipe clothing from Fred Meyer. The thief tried to steal away on foot, but officers soon bagged him.

Burglary: Overnight, 3600 block of A Street Southeast. Somebody entered a fenced lot, took stereos and damaged vehicles. Police declined to put a price tag on any of it.

Theft: 1 p.m., 11000 block of Southeast 320th Place. Police arrested a boy for swiping a pack of smokes from the porch of a house.

Shoplifting: 4:06 p.m., 1000 block of Auburn Way South. Police arrested a man, age not given, for shoplifting objects, not described, from a store, not disclosed.

Assault: 11:20 p.m., 12700 block of Southeast 312th Street. A man beat his girlfriend and fled.

Harassment: 11:34 p.m., 3700 block of C Street Northeast. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend sent her hundreds of unwelcome text messages.

Feb. 7

Vandalism: 8 a.m., 12700 block of Southeast Green Valley Road. Persons unknown vandalized — scratched, dented, kicked, who knows — a vehicle of unknown make belonging to someone identified only as "victim" but likely a member of one gender or the other.

Burglary: 4 p.m., 10500 block of Auburn Black Diamond Road Southeast. Somebody reported a burglary at Continental Dirt Construction. The burglar or burglars entered the building by force by prying back a section of sheet metal siding then stealing a plasma cutter.

Assault: 5:55 p.m., 600 block of L Place Southeast. A woman reported that a former neighbor had slapped her. Minutes later she discovered that her cell phone was missing.

Assault: 6:51 p.m., 3800 block of D Place Southeast. A boyfriend and ex-girlfriend got into a fight. Officers could not say who started the fight because the victim, mindful of a warrant with his or her name on it, fled the scene before police got there. The injuries were minor. Police arrested one of the witnesses for obstruction and a misdemeanor warrant.

Feb. 8

Vandalism: 2:48 a.m., 400 block of 8th Street Southeast. Police would say no more.

Car theft: Overnight, 1700 block of 33rd Place Southeast. While Auburn police were taking down the details about a stolen Acura, two Algona officers found it in the 1600 block of Boundary Southwest. The thief had stolen the Acura from its owners driveway overnight then crashed it into a fire hydrant, two trees and a raised curb before stopping. By the time police found the car, the thief was long gone.

Vandalism: Overnight, 300 block of 17th Street Southeast. An Auburn resident reported that someone plastered their car with eggs and toilet paper two nights in a row.

Egging: 5:15 p.m., 3400 block of C Street Southeast. A hooligan or perhaps several hooligans egged a house. There was no damage and no one saw the eggs flying.

Feb. 9

Fraud: 11:16 a.m., 1500 block of Auburn Way N. A man tried to cash a forged check at an unnamed business. The man got the check through a 'secret shopper' type Website with the promise of 10 percent of the value in exchange for evaluating the business's customer service.

Harassment: 12:47 p.m., 2900 block of Auburn Way S. Somebody posted a lewd and lascivious video of a woman on line. Police cited the suspect through the mail for cyberstalking.

Theft: Overnight, 400 block of 17th Street Southeast. A resident of a rehabilitation center in Auburn reported that somebody had swiped his pants right off of him, pants with a large amount of money in them.
