The Pacific City Council on Monday unanimously chose Leanne Guier to serve on the Council, replacing Nicole Hagestad on an interim basis.

Guier will run for election this fall, according to Mayor Richard Hildreth.

Guier, the former chair of Pacific Partnerships, also served as chair of the city planning commission. She is active in many other facets of the community.

Hagestad resigned to devote more time to family. Her term was to expire later this year.

Kevin Kline and James McMahan also interviewed for the position. Howard Erickson, former councilmember and mayor, applied for the position but did not interview.
