An approximately 15-year-old boy was transported to Harborview Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle in the 30000 block of 108 Avenue Southeast in Auburn at 2:56 p.m. today. The teen was riding his bicycle at the time of the crash, and was not wearing a helmet.

A passerby called 911 after witnessing the crash and Valley Regional Fire Authority crews, along with King County Medic One paramedics were dispatched to the scene. Crews stabilized the teen and he was transported to Harborview by paramedics.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority reminds all bicyclists to wear a properly fitted helmet when riding to help prevent head injuries.
