The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 190 calls for service between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20, among them the following:

Sept. 14

Aid call: 6:21 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a man for injuries sustained in an assault in the 700 block of 37th Street Southeast. A private vehicle transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Sept. 15

Industrial accident: 6:35 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a man who passed out when he was trapped behind a 12,000-pound piece of machinery while it was being installed. Co-workers acted quickly and moved the machinery by hand to free him. After examining the man, King County Medic 6 transported him in stable condition to Harborview Medical Center.

Sept. 16

Car accident: 11:13 a.m., (Auburn). Engine 32 and Aid 32 treated two patients who had been injured in an auto accident at the 1700 block of “A” St. SE. Staff transported one patient to ARMC for further treatment and released the other at the scene.

Sept. 17

Car vs. pedestrian: 6:10 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined a boy who had been struck by a car in the 1900 block of Fir Street Southeast. As the boy's only injury was a scraped elbow, firefighters left him in his mother's care.

Sept. 18

Aid call: 10:16 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined a boy who had run his bike into a truck in the 2300 block of 62nd Loop Southeast in Lakeland Hills. Firefighters treated the boy for minor scrapes and transported him in stable condition to ARMC.

Sept. 19

Apartment fire: 4:36 p.m., (Auburn). Fire units arrived at 2 - 5th Street Northwest to find moderate, grey smoke coming from an apartment. Once inside the apartment, firefighters contained a cooking fire to the stove and to cabinets above the stove. Before leaving, firefighters installed new smoke detectors in two of the four units.

Sept. 20

Aid call: 6:49 p.m., (Pacific). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a fall injury in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue Southeast in Pacific. Firefighters arrived to find a male who said that he had injured his leg jumping over a short post. Firefighters bandaged the wounds, and a private car transported him to ARMC.
