The R Street Utility Improvements Project will continue asphalt paving activities on 17th Street SE, Auburn Way South and arterial roads in between on Wednesday (Sept. 30).

Paving operations on 17th Street SE, between K Street SE and M Street SE, will occur between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Through traffic will be maintained along with access to adjacent properties.

Paving operations on Auburn Way South at 17th Street SE will require periodic closures between 10 am and 2 pm as follows:

• Intersection of 17th Street SE and M Street SE

• Intersection of 17th Street SE and Auburn Way South east of Auburn Way South

• Lane restrictions on Auburn Way South.

During these closures, detours will be in place as required to direct traffic around each closure, however, intersection closures will not be occurring at the same time. Through traffic on Auburn Way South will be maintained but will be restricted to one lane in each direction.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays.
