The Valley Regional Fire Authority board of governance will have shovels ready for the groundbreaking ceremony of the South Auburn Station 32 remodel scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
The ceremony will be located at 1951 R St. SE in South Auburn. The public is invited to attend. Those who plan on attending are encouraged to carpool, as parking is limited.

The remodel of the facility will follow the completion of the new Lakeland Fire Station 33 at 500 182nd Ave. E. expected in October.
The VRFA will then have five fire stations including South Auburn Station 32, Lakeland Fire Station 33, the North Auburn Station 31 at 1101 D St. NE, Lea Hill Station 34 at 31204 124th Ave. and Pacific Station 38 at 133 3rd Ave. SE.
