A woman in her mid-30s sustained serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center following a two car accident Sunday evening.

The driver of the second vehicle, also a woman in her mid-30s, was transported to Auburn Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The accident occurred on West Valley Highway East, just north of Jovita Boulevard in Pacific.

Witnesses called 911 at 8:28 p.m. reporting the accident. The seriously injured driver was still in her vehicle when firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority arrived. After freeing her from her heavily damaged car, firefighters and paramedics from King County Medic One cared for her injuries. The second patient was able to exit her vehicle before firefighters arrived.
