Alert neighbors report duplex fire in north Auburn

The Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters put out a duplex fire in north Auburn on Wednesday.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters put out a duplex fire in north Auburn on Wednesday.

The VRFA received a dispatch reporting a house on fire near the 3000 block of K Street Northeast in Auburn at approximately 10:28 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find nearby residents attempting to put out the fire with a garden hose.

The fire, that was reported to have started on the exterior of the structure, had extended to the interior of the duplex and was spreading rapidly. Firefighters made access to the inside of the structure and were able to bring the fire under control within a few minutes.

No occupants were found inside the structure and there were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.

The fire is under investigation by the South King County Fire Investigation Task Force.
