Algona house fire displaces occupant

Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority, with the support of King County Medic 6 and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, doused a house fire in Algona early Tuesday morning.

The occupant, who had gone back into the house to find his dog, complained of slight discomfort from the smoke but refused treatment at the scene. The dog was found and is OK.

Crews responded to a report of a two-story house on fire near the intersection of Washington and Milwaukee boulevards around 1 a.m.

The fire engulfed the front of the house and extending into the attic. The fire was brought under control in a few minutes.

The fire is under investigation.
