Auburn Police blotter | Feb. 1

Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Jan. 22 and 27:

Jan. 22

Trespassing: 8:53 a.m., 1575 Lake Tapps Drive SE. For trespassing at an Auburn apartment complex did Auburn Police arrest a man in the late-morning hours of this day and haul his illegally located form off to jail.

Theft: 9:35 a.m., 100 block of M Street Southeast. Hearing the mail slot on his porch a-rattling, a keen-eared man hurried outside in time to catch some mail thieves in the very act of mail thievery.

Weapons offense: 1:32 p.m., 2400 block of F Street Southeast. Police busted three guys for unlawful possession of a firearm, but their list of offenses swelled to include vandalism, trespassing, obstructing justice, possession of drugs and resisting arrest.

Jan. 23

Kid busted: 10:50 a.m., 711 E. Main St. Police arrested a kid for having pot and booze at Auburn High School.

Business burglary: Overnight, 4435 A St. SE. Staff at Cacie Nails and Spa reported a break-in.

Theft: 3:50 p.m., 12722 SE 312TH St. Some thief stole the tip jar from Taco Del Mar at the Season’s at Lea Hill Apartments.

Disorderly conduct: 5:28 a.m., 2500 F St. SE. Police arrested a guy for conducting himself unlawfully and, presumably, unpleasantly on a bus.

Trespassing: 6:04 p.m., 1241 Auburn Way N. The Dollar Tree tossed a woman from its canopy until 2023.

Controlled substance: 10:12 a.m., 3300 block of 21st Street Southeast. Police arrested a dude near Shaughnessy Park for having drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.

Jan. 24

Weapons offense: 11:30 a.m., 1025 K St. SE. Police arrested a kid for having metal knuckles at Olympic Middle School.

Burglary: 1:54 p.m., 808 I St. NE. A burglar or burglars hit laundry room coin machines again and again between Aug. 1 of 2018 and Jan. 24.

Theft: 2 p.m., 1148 E. Main St. Somebody stole a Stihl chainsaw from a vehicle parked at Auburn City Import.

Long-distance fraud: 12:05 p.m., 620 Auburn Way S. A woman called police from the state of Arkansas to complain that somebody had stolen her Domino’s account information and reward points and used them at the Auburn Way South pizzeria.

Jan. 27

Vandalism: 9:25 a.m., 601 Oravetz Road SE. Somebody smashed out the window of a parked vehicle but stole nada from inside.

Strong-arm robbery: 11:37 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A thief pushed a Safeway employee to the ground during an act of late-night thievery.
