Auburn traffic advisory: West Valley Highway and South 287th Street | UPDATED

From Wednesday, Dec. 6, through Friday, Dec. 8, construction of the North Auburn Logistics Development Project by Santana Trucking will continue to require alternating traffic in both the north and south bound directions of West Valley Highway at South 287th Street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The work is dependent on weather.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

Elsewhere

• On Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, and Thursday, Dec. 14, construction for the Auburn Way South Corridor Safety Improvements project will require traffic signal system shutdowns at the intersection of Auburn Way South and Riverwalk Drive SE. During construction work, the signal will be turned off and police officers will be directing traffic through the intersection. There will also be intermittent lane closures on Auburn Way South and Riverwalk Drive SE during these operations.

Traffic impacts will begin at 8:30 a.m. and are anticipated to end by 2:30 p.m.

Please use caution and pay close attention to police officers, flaggers and construction sign directions.

Access to businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction. The work is dependent on weather.

• On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the City’s contractor will be restriping the westbound lane lines along Auburn Way South (SR 164) from Muckleshoot Plaza to Dogwood Street SE. The work will require intermittent westbound lane closures on Auburn Way South.

To accommodate commuter traffic, the westbound lane restriction hours are planned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Heavy congestion is anticipated during the lane restriction hours noted above; please plan accordingly.
