New generator to power Pacific in case of an emergency

The City of Pacific has plenty of power in reserve.

State representatives and City officials gathered at a Tuesday ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil a new generator that occupies the City Hall Campus.

According to City staff, Sen. Mark Miloscia, R-Federal Way, along with former Reps. Carol Gregory, D-Federal Way, and Linda Kochmar, R-Federal Way, were instrumental in obtaining an appropriation for the generator project.

In the case of an emergency, the generator will power the Pacific Gymnasium building, which can house more than 200 people and has a commercial kitchen, and City Hall and the Public Works shop. The generator will help power those facilities and provide shelter, keeping the City and essential services up and running.
