Pacific mayor appointed to the King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee

The Metropolitan King County Council on Monday unanimously confirmed the appointment of Pacific Mayor Leanne Guier to the King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee.

“Leanne brings strong qualifications to King County’s Flood Control District Advisory Committee,” said King County Council member Pete von Reichbauer. “I have worked closely with Leanne on flooding issues that affect our region, especially those in South King County. She has a good sense of what needs to get done and how to do it, and her experience will be an asset to the Committee.”

Guier’s appointment is for a term to expire on Dec. 31, 2019.

The King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee is comprised of 15 members and is a distinct governmental entity, separate from that of King County. The role of the committee is to review an annual work program and budget for the district, including capital improvement program projects and funding levels, and submit a recommendation to the District by Aug. 31 of each year.
