Police investigating fatal collision at Auburn Way South and Dogwood Street SE

The Auburn Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating a fatal collision at Auburn Way South and Dogwood Street SE.

An elderly couple in a vehicle, heading eastbound on Auburn Way South, were turning onto Dogwood Street Southeast when they collided with a westbound truck, police said.

The passenger of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle was transported with minor injuries, according to police. The driver of the truck was transported as a precaution.

Police said it is too early in the investigation to know if speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the wreck.
