The search continued for a 34-year-old Federal Way man missing since May 17, following an accident near Flaming Geyser State Park east of Auburn.

The man was one of a group of four dumped into the river when their pair of inflatable rafts lashed together flipped near the park. The three others were rescued.

King County sheriff’s deputies last Friday located the body of a Seattle man who disappeared the same day while kayaking in the Green River downstream from Kanaskat-Palmer State Park, but rough conditions prevented deputies from reaching him over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Green River in King County will remain closed to recreational use this weekend because of the dangerous combination of higher temperatures and heavy snow runoff. The Cedar River might reopen this week, according to King County sheriff’s.
