The Auburn School District Pool is holding “April Pools Day” on Saturday, April 19.

The free community event, which

will run from 1 to 3:30 p.m., promotes water safety and drowning prevention.

Participants learn basic reaching and throwing assists, boating and lifejacket safety, hypothermia awareness and other valuable safety skills.

Last year’s event attracted more

than 200 kids.

Refreshments will be served and prizes will be given away, including a chance to win a new (donated) lifejacket, a set of swim lessons and a family pass to the school district pool.

Dr. Stuart Rich, Dr. David Rogers, Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, Doxon Toyota and others are sponsoring the event.
