VRFA Post 1741 presented its annual “buddy” poppy charitable fundraiser at Haggen Food & Pharmacy in Lakeland Hills last Saturday. The annual distribution of the “buddy” poppy is used to raise funds for charitable programs on behalf of needy and disabled veterans, and the surviving family members of deceased veterans. Since 1922, the Veterans of Foreign Wars has conducted an annual distribution of the “buddy” poppy. COURTESY PHOTO
