VRFA fire and rescue blotter | Dec. 9

The VRFA responded to 269 calls for service between Nov. 28 and Dec. 4., among them the following:

Nov. 28

Aid call: 7:59 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters got a deaf man’s problematic wheelchair running again and then gave him a ride to his hotel several miles distant.

Nov. 29

Smoke Investigation: 7:49 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters investigating a report of smoke in a wooded area contacted several homeless campers and helped them snuff out their campfire.

Nov. 30

Aid call: 2:04 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped an older woman who was complaining of general weakness and flu-like symptoms, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Dec. 1

Aid call: 10:26 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a woman with an uncontrollable nose bleed caused by hypertension, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare (MAMC).

Dec. 2

Accident: 8:29 a.m., (North Auburn). Firefighters who responded to a single-car rollover accident performed vehicle stabilization, extrication and care for one man. King County Medic One also provided patient care and transported the man to MAMC.

Dec. 3

Aid Call: 9 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters responded to an older woman in a state of confusion, and a private ambulance transported her to Valley Medical Center.

Dec. 4

Fire alarm: 5:52 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a residential fire alarm that caught the whiff of cooking smoke and started to screech. The home sustained no fire or smoke damage.
