VRFA fire and rescue blotter | Feb. 15

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 297 calls for service between Feb. 4 and 10, among them the following:

Feb. 4

Accident: 9:39 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car accident at the intersection of 15th Street Southwest and O Street Southwest evaluated a man who was complaining of seatbelt- and airbag-induced injuries to his chest. The man declined transportation to a hospital.

Feb. 5

Aid call: 8:30 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated a baby girl for nose bleeds, and left her at home with her family.

Feb. 6

Aid call: 3:00 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters, Boeing Fire and King County Medics treated a middle-aged man for chest pain, and medics transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Feb. 7

Accident: 6:03 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a minor, two-car accident found a middle-aged woman who was complaining of shoulder pain but did not need any other medical attention.

Feb. 8

Power lines down: 6:54 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to wires down in a business parking lot found two high-voltage power lines draped across two vehicles, so they secured the area and waited for Puget Sound Energy to cut off the juice.

Feb. 9

Aid call: 12:40 p.m.,(Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a middle-aged man who’d been lying in the snow for an unknown period of time, and transported him to MAMC.

Feb. 10

Fire: 4:30 p.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters, the Puget Sound Fire Authority and Mountain View Fire and Rescue. extinguished a residential fire, called in the Red Cross for five displaced occupants, then turned the scene over to Mountain View Fire and Rescue for investigation.
