The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 221 calls for service between March 5 and March 10, among them the following:

March 5

Aid call: 10:25 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded as mutual aid to Kent to a young woman who was suffering from a seizure, treated her, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Covington Medical Center.

March 6

Wires down: 1:42 p.m., (North Auburn). Firefighters responding to wires down near Emerald Downs found that copper metal thieves had pulled all the wires from the ground that were feeding the light poles. Auburn Police were called to continue the investigation, and the lights remained out of service.

March 7

Aid call: 8:13 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters and King County Medics examined a man who was in respiratory distress, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

March 8

Flammable liquid spill: 12:07 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a small amount of transmission fluid spilled near a storm water drain put down absorbent materials to suck it up and prevent any runoff into the drain.

March 9

Aid call: 9:34 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters examined a senior citizen who was complaining of confusion and weakness, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.

March 10

Automatic fire alarm: 9:45 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at a 6-story apartment building in Auburn, where a resident had burnt food while cooking. Firefighters ventilated the apartment and put the building’s alarm system back into service.
