VRFA fire and rescue blotter | May 24

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 237 calls for service between May 13 and 19, among them the following:

May 13

Aid call: 3:23 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a middle-aged man in cardiac arrest, and medics motored him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

May 14

Illegal burn: 8:18 a.m., (Pacific). Pacific Police notified the VRFA of a campfire composed mainly of garbage flaming away on a vacant lot. Firefighters extinguished the conflagration, and then left the scene for police to handle.

May 15

Accident: 4 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and police responding to a two-vehicle accident evaluated an elderly woman. a man and a young woman who were complaining of non-life threatening injuries, A private ambulance transported all parties to local hospitals.

May 16

Fire alarm: 9:51 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a fire alarm at Green River College determined the cause: a student vaping in a bathroom.

May 17

Accident: 6:33 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car, rollover accident found all of the occupants had gotten out by themselves and were walking about with no complaints of injury. The involved parties stayed at the scene with Auburn Police.

May 18

Aid call: 3:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a woman who was complaining of dizziness and blurred vision, and a private ambulance scooted her to MAMC for further care.

May 19

Aid call: 1:22 p.m., (Algona). A middle-aged woman called 911 to complain of pain lingering from an item that had fallen on her head two weeks earlier. Firefighters evaluated her, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.
