VRFA fire and rescue blotter | Sept. 14

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 263 calls for service between Sept. 3 and 9, among them the following:

Sept. 3

Fire: 5:27 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters used their deck gun to beat down the flames and cool a large pile of metal that had caught fire at a recycling plant.

Sept. 4

Aid call: 1:35 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters evaluated a young woman who was suffering from abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Sept. 5

Shed fire: 7:52 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a shed fire at White River Estates found a fully-involved, 10-by-10-foot storage shed. Firefighters extinguished the fire and stopped it from spreading to the shed next to it. The VRFA Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.

Sept. 6

Aid call: 8:52 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters who’d been dispatched to help a senior citizen with an uncontrolled nosebleed advised him to see a doctor, and a private ambulance transported the fellow to MAMC.

Sept. 7

Aid call: 6:36 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters helped a teenage boy who was complaining of injuries from a crash on his bicycle, and King County Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Sept. 8

Aid call: 8:29 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated a man who had fallen off a horse, and medics transported him to Valley Medical Center in Renton.

Sept. 9

Aid call: 3:22 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a woman who was complaining of chest pain, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way.
