VRFA fire and rescue blotter | Sept. 28

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 252 calls for service between Sept. 17 and 23, among them the following:

Sept. 17

Accident: 6:44 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters called to a vehicle that had left a roadway and was under water found it submerged about 50 feet off the road. The young man and young woman who’d been inside got out on their own, without injury.

Sept. 18

Aid call: 6:24 p.m., (Pacific). After firefighters evaluated a middle-aged woman who had taken a tumble in her apartment and was complaining of head pain, they decided she could stay at home.

Sept. 19

Accident: 3:01 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a one-vehicle rollover in the 11000 block of Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road found a large SUV blocking both lanes of traffic, and lying on the side of the road with multiple injuries, the teenage male driver who’d been partially ejected from the vehicle. King County Medics treated the kid and transferred him to Harborview Medical Center.

Sept. 20

Aid call: 12:48 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated a young man who was complaining of high blood pressure, and a private car transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.

Sept. 21

Aid call: 1:00 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a senior citizen who was complaining of stroke symptoms, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Sept. 22

Aid call: 11:07 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated a young man who had overdosed on heroin, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Sept. 23

Aid call: 7:35 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a senior citizen who had fallen, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.
