VRFA fire & rescue blotter | April 19

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 235 calls for service between April 8 and 14, among which were the following:

April 8

Aid call: 5:10 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters treated a senior citizen who had fallen on the sidewalk, possibly breaking her nose, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

April 9

Accident: 1:04 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a woman who’d been involved in a multiple-vehicle accident, and a family member drove her to St. Francis Hospital. Firefighters also evaluated a man, and a private ambulance zipped him off to MAMC.

April 10

Collision: 9:15 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responding to a single-car collision into a light pole found the lone occupant of the vehicle, a middle-aged woman, walking about with no complaints of injuries. The woman refused aid but stayed on location with Auburn Police.

April 11

CPR: 5:11 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics gave CPR to a man who was unconscious and not breathing and then transported him to MAMC.

April 12

Spill: 2:14 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters stoppered a fuel leak and applied absorbent to prevent fuel from leaking into a storm drain. The owner called a tow truck.

April 13

Vehicle fire: 8:42 a.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a car fire found a vehicle that had gone onto a sidewalk, where it smacked into another vehicle and a light pole and caught fire. Firefighters asked for an additional crew, so that one crew could kill the fire and the other treat the driver, a young man. Firefighters left the man at the scene with Auburn Police.

April 14

Aid call: 2:25 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated an elderly man who was suffering from fever, and a private ambulance hurried him to MAMC for further evaluation and treatment.
