Elaine Barbara Coffey

Elaine Barbara Coffey, 94, died May 25, 2016, at home after a brief illness.

She was a force who defied her age, both in appearance and zest for life. She was a longtime volunteer at the Auburn Senior Center and for the volunteer arm of the Auburn Symphony Bravo. After a lengthy career with various CPA firms in Auburn, she retired and freelanced her numbers skills to local businesses until the time of her death.

Elaine was born October 22, 1921 in Montpelier, North Dakota to Bertha Elizabeth and Earl Everett Noltimier. She moved with her parents and sister, Faye, to Seattle in the early 1940s and became a lifelong Northwesterner. She was divorced once and widowed twice after long marriages (Bob Miller) (Garland Coffey), and lost her only child, Michael R. Miller, in 2007. Yet she found joy and humor in life and shared her infectious spirit with a legion of friends and family.

Elaine is survived by her longtime partner, Darold Harmer, daughter-in-law, Brenda Hauge (Phil), grandsons, Sean Miller and Kyle Miller, niece, Nancy Taylor Brinkley (John), nephews, Gregg Taylor (Nancy Chambers) and Brad Taylor (Wanda), and many grandnieces and nephews around the area.

A private memorial is planned.
