George Weiman (Wally) passed away April 8th at the age of 95 at the Seattle VA Hospital from complications of a stroke. His son and family were in attendance. Wally was born in Peoria, Illinois and soon after graduating high school joined the USMC at the start of WWII. In 1945 he married Maxine Benn and in 1947 retired from military service, but continued to be active in Marine reunion activities.

He was employed as an electrician at Keystone Steel and Wire Co. in Illinois for over 30 years. After retiring he taught and consulted in electrical engineering. He also was active in church activities, Boy Scouting, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Following the passing of his wife in 2007 he moved to Auburn, WA to live with his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen Weiman.

Wally is survived by his son, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, and a brother, in Peoria. He was preceded in death by two brothers, his wife, and one grandchild.

Wally lived a life of service to his country, community, family and his Lord. A true American patriot of “the Greatest Generation” who personified the “Once a Marine, Always a Marine” saying. Shouts of “Semper Fi” echo in heaven.
