Katherine Alice Kelly

Katherine Alice Kelly passed away May 9, 2016 at age 97 from Alzheimer’s disease. She had been lovingly cared for at Wesley Homes Lea Hill for the previous 8+ years. Kay was born March 22, 1919 to Richard Conrad Balser and Helen Cummings Rogers Balser and has one sister, Jeanne Shirley McCune.

Kay was married to John Winter Kelly for 53 years and they made their home in Auburn. Kay was active in the PTA, Camp Fire, the White River Presbyterian Church, sewing and in raising 4 children who survive her: Pat (Rick) Chubb, Robbie (Gary) Severson, Jim (Lynn) Kelly and Jay Kelly. Kay and John also had 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews rounding out the family tree.

A memorial service celebrating Kay’s life will be held at Wesley Homes Lea Hill on Wednesday, June 29th at 2 PM with a reception following. 32049 109th Place SE, Auburn, WA 98092. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Camp Fire of Central Puget Sound or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
