RUTH ELAINE CORBALEY

February 20, 1925 – September 17, 2019

Ruth (Wehmhoff) Corbaley was born in Pateros, Washington, the second of three children to Lester and Mildred Wehmhoff. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and Ralph and love of her life, Art.

Ruth lived a long life, rich with devotion to her family. She married Arthur Corbaley and raised six children, Carl (Leslie) Corbaley, Craig (Shirley) Corbaley, Sue (Bob) Wood, Sally (Ernie) Myers, Sandy (Jamey) Combo and Kirk (Najwa) Corbaley. She was exceptionally proud of her titles of “Aunt Ruth”, “Great Aunt Ruth”, “Grandma Ruth” to 17 grandchildren and “GiGi” to 12 great grandchildren. She remains always a part of us.

Ruth was a longtime member of the Auburn First United Methodist Church, United Methodists Women, giving of her time to teach Sunday school and serve meals at church events and to the community. She received her nursing degree from Everett College and worked as a kind and caring Registered Nurse at the Valley Terrace Nursing Home in Auburn.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 12, at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Auburn, Washington. A reception will follow. Memorials may be made to the Auburn First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
