Shirley Morehead, 87, long time Auburn resident, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2017.

Services will be held November 10, 1:00pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn, WA.

Born August 6, 1930 in Auburn General Hospital to Margaret & Walter Johnson. Auburn High School graduate of 1948. Married Dallas Morehead, in 1951 at Messiah Lutheran Church and had two daughters Terri and Debbie.

Employed at Auburn School District for 30 years as a Jr. High Secretary, then elementary secretary at Pioneer & Chinook. She was then manager for Leisure Manor Mobile Home Community as well as lived there for 18 years.

Shirley was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church since the 40s. Her faith always shined through. In 2011 she became the Auburn Good Ol’ Days Princess. In addition to being a great friend to many, family was a priority. She enjoyed staying connected and loved attending family reunions.

Survived by two daughters, Terri Bowen (husband Gene) of Renton and Debbie Morehead of California; her grandsons Daniel Bowen (wife Erin) and Christopher Bowen; and great grandchildren Noah and Hannah Bowen; sister Joan Beasley of Florida; niece Jacki Moddrell (husband Skip) and their children Keira Eggleston and Alyssa Maciel and their families and many loved cousins.

Her smile, wonderful personality, and kindness will be remembered by all. She now rests in Jesus’ arms. Shirley will be missed by many.
