Too much hate

Denis DeFrancesco’s view (Nov. 12 letter to the editor, Auburn Reporter) about Walter Backstrom’s editorial reflects many of those I talk with: “I understand disagreeing with the president’s policies or actions, but calling the president of the United States and Commander in Chief disgusting names is something I just don’t understand.”
I could not count the number of times I heard the word “hate” during this political contest. “I hate Bush. I hate the idiotic war. I hate bleeding heart liberals. I hate unfeeling conservatives.” So many “I hate ... ” from many people.
I admire Walter Backstrom for his insightful editorials. He definitely gives us food for thought. I wish there were more like him.
