Mangy median?

September 5, 2012 · Updated 4:16 PM

Can you imagine what this City Council could do if they put as much time, effort and information sharing into important things like I don't know ... maybe a municipal court issue or municipal airport issue as they have into one little median.

Why are all the big important items concerning the City done behind closed doors, in the hours of the day that are difficult at best for citizens to attend or, even more disconcerting, in utter secrecy.

So the question is this, Is this really an item of importance or is it a smoke screen for something of more importance that the council and mayor don't want the citizens to get wind of before they can seal a deal? Another sell out to King County maybe? Inquiring minds want to know, inquiring minds will check the shadows to see what they can see.

As for the median, get the hour time slot to shut down one lane of traffic in each direction at the median that will least affect traffic and a crew of 2 should be able to pull the offensive weeds and add whatever the street or parks department deems best to make it look presentable in two or three days without adversely effecting traffic. If we still had our probation work force available that would be a good job for them, might even have taught them a trade to help break the cycle of crime.
