Poor restroom availability

September 20, 2012 · Updated 1:48 PM

Roegner Park restrooms? Let me see. Auburn Riverside High School closes for the summer. Restrooms are opened. The school opens for the new term. Restrooms are padlocked closed.

Please let the Auburn Parks department know we are not stupid people, and the closure has nothing to do with winterization. They don't winterize Game Farm Park.

It is simply a matter that instead of enforcing loitering laws, they ticket student parking in the lot and have the school maintain control over its students. It is easier to punish the community as a whole that uses the park.

OK, so no restrooms for the mother's walking with baby buggies. No restrooms for the toddlers at the playground to use either. Nor for us seniors who walk our dogs and use the newly expanded off-leash dog park.

I almost forgot, there is a poorly maintained Porta-Potty. I used "burn out latrines" in combat that were in better shape than what is being provided for our use.
