Oak Harbor Freight strike: Replacement truckers are unskilled
October 3, 2008 · Updated 4:06 PM
I have been on the picket line for several days in support of my friends at Oak Harbor Freight. The company sent a LOT of scab drivers out. This is no exaggeration, the majority of the drivers they sent out were unskilled and, in some case, reckless drivers.
I watched trucks pulling out on West Valley Highway and 37th Street, killing their engines, some with no lights to their trailers and a variety of safety issues.
The streets of Auburn are not as safe with these people on the road. It truly should be “shame on Oak Harbor” for the people they have hired.
