Area’s flood problems could have been avoided

Regarding your article concerning possible flooding on the Green River (Auburn Reporter, April 3), this is unacceptable. This problem was detected last year, and to date it hasn’t been corrected.
If all I hear is you better get flood insurance, then that tells me the problems are on the back-burner.
My daughter lost everything living in Orting when the Puyallup River flooded because the Corps and the hydraulics individuals don’t care enough about people. The populous cares more about earth and animals today. There’s something wrong with what’s happening around this area.
This doesn’t just affect homes but businesses, and not just one city, but four. Is this what we wanted when they built the dam in 1961?
Well, you better get flood insurance. This should not have happened in Algona and Pacific.
