Auburn Riverside girls remain perfect in SPSL North 4A with 71-57 win over Auburn

Second-ranked Auburn Riverside rolled to its seventh South Puget Sound League North 4A girls basketball win on Friday, defeating crosstown rival Auburn, 71-51.

Kat Cooper led the Ravens (7-0, 9-1) with a game-high 22 points. Makenna Clark chipped in with 20 points and Brooklynn Hinkens had 19.

Junior Isia Johnson’s 14 points led Auburn (2-5 league, 2-8 overall). Kristiana Strickland had nine points and Sienna Pollard had eight points.

The Ravens will host Kentwood (7-0, 7-3) at 7:30 tonight in a battle for first-place in the SPSL North 4A.

The Trojans will travel to Kent-Meridian (0-7, 1-10) at 7:30 tonight.

ALSO: The Lakes Lancers (2-0, 8-2) snapped Auburn Mountainview’s (1-1, 8-3) five-game winning streak on Friday, downing the Lions 60-48. Junior Caitlin Carr had 18 points to led Auburn Mountainview and Aly Carr added 13 points. The Lancers were led by Stevonna Scott’s game-high 18 points. The Lions will travel to Peninsula (1-2, 5-7) at 7 tonight.
