Auburn Mountainview captures sub-district gymnastics title

Defending 3A state champion Auburn Mountainview edged Enumclaw, 166.600 to 166.350, to capture the Narrows, Olympic and South Puget Sound League 3A sub-district gymnastics title Saturday.

Senior Natlie Hostetter led the Lions with a second-place all-around finish with a 35.775 score. Enumclaw's Olivia Bannerot finished first with an identical 35.775 score, winning the high-event score tiebreaker with a 9.45 score in the floor exercise.

Auburn Mountainview and Enumclaw will move on to this weekend's West Central District meet beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Auburn Mountainview High School.

ALSO: Auburn Riverside and Auburn advanced several individuals to the district meet. Senior Alexis Moore will represent the Trojans in the balance beam and floor exercise, with teammate Ashley Bechard qualifying in the vault, beam and floor. Auburn's Tyler Garner qualified on the beam and Bailie Davie moves on to districts in the floor exercise. Auburn Riverside's Kylee Smith moves on in the vault, bars and beam and teammate Danielle Robinson will compete in the floor. The West Central District 4A meet gets under way at 4:10 p.m. Friday at Mount Rainier High School.
