TROJANS AT A GLANCE
• COACH: Ajibah Alastra, 3rd year.
• LAST YEAR’S RECORD: 15-11 overall, 7th place in SPSL North 4A with 8-8 record.
• TOP RETURNERS: Josh McCoy, senior, catcher/pitcher; Tilden Sansom, senior, catcher/infielder/outfielder/pitcher; and Henry Eisenberg, senior, pitcher; and Matt Seeley, sophomore, second baseman.
• TOP NEWCOMERS: Jaykob Sloan, sophomore, pitcher; and Casey Manning, freshman, pitcher.
• OUTLOOK: The Trojans look to leadership and production from seniors Sansom and McCoy. McCoy, a returning All-SPSL North 4A honorable mention at catcher last season, will be the team’s No. 1 starter. Sansom takes over behind the plate when McCoy is pitching and can play just about any position in the field, including pitcher.
“We’re a young team with a good core. They’re going to have to learn to produce at the varsity level,” Alastra said. “We’re going to play pretty solid defense. We’re going to have to manufacture runs. We’re not going to be a home run-hitting power team.”
• NOTEWORTHY: Manning, a star with the Auburn Little League 2010 World Series team, starts his prep career.
• MARK YOUR CALENDAR: March 19 vs. Auburn Mountainview; and April 18 at Auburn Riverside.
