Seattle Thunderbirds hire ex-coach Peter Anholt as scout | Hockey

The Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team has added former head coach Peter Anholt as a scout.

"Peter will concentrate on the player pool already drafted or already playing in the WHL (Western Hockey League)," said Seattle general manager Russ Farwell. "We have an excellent group of scouts in place. Peter will be a good fit with our group and allow us to do a more in depth evaluation of the current WHL player pool."

Anholt was head coach of the T-Birds for three seasons, from 1989 to 1991. He compiled a 127-77-12 coaching record. Anholt was a scout with the Red Deer Rebels last season covering Saskatchewan.

The T-Birds have also added Ross Patterson in a similar position to add coverage to the province of Alberta. Patterson has been involved in Calgary minor hockey for several years.
